Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL and Naples Junior Woman’s Club Partner Together to Help Women and Girls in Need
Junior Woman’s Club with emergency period packs
The Naples Junior Woman’s Club hosted a packing event to create emergency period supply packages for distribution by Project Help and Fostering Success. Twenty-seven women from the Naples Junior Woman’s Club, the Naples Woman’s Club, the Juniorettes, and Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL board members came together to assemble over 400 packages containing period supplies and other essential hygiene products. These packages are intended for use in emergency situations.
Project Help will distribute the emergency period packs to victims of rape, violence, or other crimes, offering support during extreme traumatic circumstances. Fostering Success will provide these packs to girls entering the foster care system, often under emergency conditions and with little preparation. These small but crucial packs aim to alleviate some of the stress faced by women and girls during these challenging times.
“We are delighted to partner again this year with the Naples Junior Woman’s Club to help provide the period products so needed by these women and girls in crisis,” said Dusti Beaubien, President and Founder of the Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL. “Access to period products is an often-overlooked issue during crisis situations. Anything we can do to relieve the stress of not having access to these basic necessities is a success for all involved.”
“No woman should have to feel uncomfortable because they do not have these basic necessities, especially those navigating their way through a crisis,” said Danielle Viens Payne, Vice President of the Naples Junior Woman’s Club and organizer of this project.
